If you call our main number at 413-664-5000, our switchboard operator can tell you if a friend or relative is in the hospital. You must ask about the person by name. We are only able to offer limited information about any family member who is hospitalized.

A hospitalist is a doctor who specializes in caring for patients in the hospital. These doctors do not have an office practice. At North Adams Regional Hospital, hospitalists are general internal medicine physicians. Some of them may have additional subspecialty training. Internal medicine doctors are trained to diagnose and treat disease in adults.
Yes. For those patients who desire it, NARH offers a translation service in many languages. Just let your nurse or other care provider know. Video sign language interpreters are also available 24 hours a day for the deaf and hard of hearing.

NARH staff members can discuss the advantages of having an advance directive completed and on file with the hospital. On admission, you will be asked if you have named a healthcare proxy. You may complete a short form at the hospital.

We discourage the use of cell phones in any patient care area of the hospital. However, you may use cell phones from waiting areas and the lobby, and outdoors.
Yes. NARH has wireless Internet access available throughout the hospital, including waiting areas.
