NARH’s Critical Care Unit (CCU) is an entirely new place! As one element of the hospital’s modernization and expansion project, the CCU has been completely renovated and enlarged. The new Critical Care Unit is completed, and boasts larger rooms and improved patient and family privacy.

Our Critical Care Unit provides quality patient care by combining “the best of the high tech with the high touch.” A well-educated, advance-certified staff coupled with a focus on connecting and truly presencing with patients and their families lead to highly satisfied patients and happy families.

Music Therapy
CCU’s music therapy program has proven invaluable for some patients. For those patients who are stressed or who can’t be calmed, music therapy can be very beneficial. When faced with significant changes in health and the situation becomes overwhelming, the patient may experience physical changes that complicate the recovery period. Music therapy can produce measurable changes in the body that can control anxiety and enhance the healing process; patients are then also taking an active role in their care. Patients are given headphones and a choice of relaxing music - Mozart, ocean sounds and even the rain forest. Several different choices are available to help people get into a different frame of mind. For some patients, the music helps to decrease their heart rate and their blood pressure.
