(Oct. 19, 2011) The Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice of Northern Berkshire will hold its fifth annual VNA & Hospice Bazaar on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held at the VNA & Hospice Community Room, 535 Curran Highway, North Adams.
Proceeds from the annual bazaar benefit the VNA’s Hospice Fund.
The bazaar will include a Chinese auction featuring a Wii Game system and other surprises; a craft table; raffles including a 50-50 and food basket raffle; a baked goods table; and assorted hot foods. Face painting and lollipops will be offered for children along with a free children’s raffle. Also on display will be the VNA & Hospice Holiday Tree and a five-foot tall nutcracker.
Flu vaccines will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fee is $20 or free for those with Medicare B which covers 100% of the cost. Medicare card must be presented at the time of vaccine administration.
The VNA & Hospice, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, provides comprehensive home health care services including skilled nursing and home health aide services; hospice services; IV therapy; pain management; physical, occupational and speech therapy; parent/child health services; and medical social work. The agency also offers community programs including regular health screenings, immunizations, health education, bereavement support, and an Alzheimer’s support group.
Hospice services include medical, physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support. The program engages dozens of volunteers who work directly with patients and families. Information: 413-664-4536 and on Facebook.
