|Free Q&A on colon cancer and colonoscopy May 1 at Orchards Hotel|

(April 10, 2012) North Adams Regional Hospital will continue its series of free question-and-answer sessions with a discussion of colorectal cancer and colonoscopy on Tuesday, May 1, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The free event takes place at the Orchards Hotel on Main Street in Williamstown. Refreshments will be served and participants can enter a raffle to win passes to the North Adams Garden Movieplex. Presenters will include Lou Reines, MD, a general surgeon with Northern Berkshire General Surgery, and Chi Zhang, MD, a gastroenterologist with Greylock Gastroenterology. They will answer questions on colorectal cancer, screening colonoscopy, risk factors, and more.
Dr. Reines, a board-certified surgeon, earned his medical degree and a master’s degree in health management from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Connecticut and his fellowship in colorectal surgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
Dr. Zhang, board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, joined NARH in 2004 from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston where he completed a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology. Dr. Zhang served his internship and residency in internal medicine at Stony Brook Teaching Hospital in New York, having earned his medical degree from China University in Shenyang, China. Dr. Zhang also holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
