It is our philosophy - and a strength of our program - to treat patients holistically and individually, consistently encouraging them to recognize and assume responsibility for their patterns of behavior.
North Adams Regional Hospital offers complete inpatient psychiatric services at Greylock Pavilion, established in 1989. Greylock Pavilion is now known throughout Western Massachusetts for its effective treatment programs, offering secure high quality inpatient hospitalization for the adult in need of acute, short-term psychiatric treatment. The unit provides psychiatric services to adolescents, adults, and older adults through individualized treatment in which the patient is an active participant whenever possible. We provide a safe, therapeutic milieu, encouraging patient and family involvement. Our philosophy is based on the patient's total needs - both physical and emotional.
Our older adults program provides for patients who may be experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties related to the aging process, physical impairments, escalation of psychiatric symptoms or dementia. Greylock Pavilion is fully equipped to provide medical care to the patient at the same time psychiatric treatment is needed.
Greylock Pavilion services also include a Dual Diagnosis Track. The program provides intensive treatment for the patient struggling with a psychiatric illness as well as alcohol and/or drug addiction.
We encourage the patient's support systems (family, clergy, therapists, and case managers) to participate in treatment and discharge planning meetings.
Referrals to Greylock Pavilion can be made 24-hours a day by calling (413) 664-5368. Following a clinical assessment, a decision to admit to the unit is made as soon as possible.
Arrangements for transportation and the admission process will be explained at the time of acceptance.
