(NORTH ADAMS, MA) Stephanie Foo, MD, of Milton, Massachusetts, has joined North Adams Regional Hospital’s hospitalist program.
Dr. Foo completed her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, providing inpatient and outpatient care. She earned her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar, where she was also an anatomy instructor.
As a hospitalist, Dr. Foo will see patients who are admitted to North Adams Regional Hospital’s critical care unit and general medical/surgical unit (3North). Hospitalists are experts in inpatient internal medicine and concentrate on the care of adult patients, while keeping patients’ primary care doctors involved in their care. A hospitalist is a physician whose practice is dedicated entirely to the care of hospitalized patients. Hospitalists work as a team to be available to their patients 24 hours a day.The hospitalist program at NARH allows primary care physicians to focus on outpatient and prevention services.
