Northern Berkshire Obstetrics & Gynecology offers the expertise you need, and the compassion and caring you’ve come to expect, at all stages of your life. Our board-certified physicians and certified nurse midwives provide comprehensive, compassionate care to women of all ages.
Medical staff include Charles O’Neill, MD, Susan Yates, MD, and Alison Hastings, DO, who are joined by certified midwives Carol Bryan, CNM, Evelyn Resh, and Robin Rivinus, MS, CNM, NP.
Dr. O’Neill has practiced in the North Berkshire region since 1987. He earned his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine, and served his internship and residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. O’Neill is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and has served as President of Williamstown Medical Associates.
Dr. Yates, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, earned her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She served her internship and residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During her time in Northern Berkshire, Dr. Yates has served as President of the Medical Staff at North Adams Regional Hospital, and as Chairman of the Department of Maternal/Newborn Medicine.
Dr. Hastings earned her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her residency at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Hastings received extensive training in maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, gynecologic oncology, and uro-gynecology.
Carol Bryan joined Northern Berkshire OB/GYN in 2008. She earned her certification as a nurse midwife from Frontier School of Midwifery & Family Nursing, with ACNM Board Certification. Ms. Bryan has worked as a nurse practitioner in such varied locations as Portsmouth, Ohio; Eureka, Calif.; Alturas, Calif.; and Ashland, Ore. Her clinical experience includes hospital-based births, and women’s health including primary care of women throughout their life span.
Robin Rivinus has practiced in North Berkshire since March 2006. In addition to holding certification as a nurse midwife, Ms. Rivinus is a registered nurse and has a master’s degree in nursing and midwifery. She also holds a post-master’s certificate as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from Stony Brook University in New York, and has a master’s degree in education from Bridgewater State College. She has worked at hospitals in Dallas, Texas, and Boston, and has been a clinical instructor at Case Western Reserve University and the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Ms. Rivinus speaks Spanish.
Ms. Rivinus’ clinical areas of interest include integrative women’s health, stress and aging, sexuality and emotional wellness, and menopause. |
