NARH Respiratory Therapy Department
The NARH Respiratory Therapy Department provides respiratory treatment, services and testing for patients throughout the hospital, and for those referred by their physicians. Our goal is to improve the health of our patients by providing optimum preventive and restorative respiratory care.
Our respiratory therapists assist with conditions including asthma, respiratory distress, and others in adults, children, and newborns. Services include:
- Assistance with smoking cessation
- Pulse oximetry
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT)
- Medical gas therapy
- Peak flow
- Breathing treatments and exercises
- BIPAP/CPAP and ventilator management
- Basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitative measures
Outpatient services are offered Monday through Friday in the Respiratory Care Department on the 2nd floor of NARH.
Respiratory therapists also provide consultative support and educational services to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, Sweet Brook Transitional Care & Living Centers, and to the community at large.
